Simon Field
Simon Field joined Illuminations Films in 2004 after eight years as director of the Rotterdam Film Festival. Together with Keith Griffiths, in 2006, he co-produced the New Crowned Hope festival series of films including features by Bahman Ghobadi, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, Garin Nugroho and Tsai Ming-Liang and including Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Syndromes and a Century. With Apichatpong, they went on to produce his major installation Primitive (2009) and the related feature Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010).
Keith Griffiths
Over the last 35 years Keith Griffiths has been bringing to the screen work by some of the most innovative directors including original British film-makers like the Brothers Quay, Patrick Keiller, Chris Petit and Simon Pummell in the UK and the Czech animator Jan Svankmajer. In 1986 he founded Illuminations Films and recently produced one of 2012’s most critically acclaimed British features, Peter Strickland’s prize-winning Berberian Sound Studio.

Illuminations Films is British company specialising in producing original and imaginative features, short films, installations and multi-platform projects, both fiction and documentary. As well as working with some of the most independently minded of British film-makers, Illuminations Films also collaborates with international partners, producers and directors from around the world. We have premiered and presented films in all the major festivals including Cannes, Venice, Locarno and Toronto.
